HSFF was founded by Julian Prince Dash — a social entrepreneur, artist, and factory owner who built this concept from scratch. Starting at 42 Turk Street with zero resources and a mission, the program has grown across three locations and 18 years of continuous SF operations.
1059 Market Street is not just an address. It's a return — to the city's garment district roots, to the idea that San Francisco can make things again, and to the belief that education and production belong in the same building.
HSFF has operated in tandem with the community from day one. Students, mentors, partners, and supporters have built this alongside Julian — and that collaborative foundation is what makes the system real and durable.
1,000% business growth in one year. Partnerships with Levi's, GAP, Adidas, and Outside Lands. Featured by the SF Chronicle, ABC, and NBC. Institutional partnerships with SFUSD, CCSF, and SFSU. 18 years and counting.
Premium denim made in San Francisco, by trained students. Every purchase funds the next person learning to build. This is not merchandise — it's the mission in product form.
