OUR STORY AND HISTORY

OUR FIRST STORE

This is not our first rodeo and we did not spring up overnight. We tend to focus on the roots and not just the fruits of our labor of love. This concept is now able to catch on and us being at 1059 Market Street is a Homecoming long over due.

A FAMILY, FACTORY + SCHOOL

A video taken by interns of MT. Tamalpais High School about their experience and interpretation of Holy Stitch! We have always been behind the scenes and seams but now we are bring it to the forefront. This was shot at 42 Turk Street prior to the Line Hotel.

ABOUT HOLY STITCH FACTORY FELLOWSHIP

WHO ARE WE?

Holy Stitch! Factory Fellowship (HSFF) is a one of a kind non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth and displaced workers in San Francisco and beyond. Founded by Julian Prince Dash, a visionary social entrepreneur and artist, HSFF serves as a vibrant hub for creativity, education, and community engagement.

Our multifaceted space at 1059 Market Street combines a retail store, tailor shop, sewing school, and manufacturing facility, creating a one-of-a-kind environment where dreams are stitched into reality. It truly is and has been a one person project in tandem with the community like you.

WHAT do we do?

At HSFF, we offer a range of services and opportunities designed to foster growth, creativity, and skill development while creating some of the coolest clothing out there:

  • Classes and Workshops: We provide hands-on training in sewing, screen printing, embroidery, and more, catering to all skill levels.
  • Internships and Apprenticeships: Our programs equip youth with valuable skills and experience, opening doors to careers in fashion and manufacturing.
  • Retail and Customization: Our store/showroom features unique, one-of-a-kind garments, vintage finds, and custom-made jeans, all produced in-house.
  • Community Engagement: We host events, collaborate with local businesses, and offer memberships that grant access to our specialized equipment and mentorship programs.

WHEN did it all begin?

HSFF was born out of necessity, passion, and  a commitment to social impact. Julian Prince Dash founded Holy Stitch! in 2006, recognizing the untapped potential of combining creativity with community service.

In 2023, we expanded our mission by establishing HSFF as a non-profit, dedicated to better activating and serving the San Francisco community through education, empowerment, and sustainable fashion practices.

WHY do we do it?

Our mission at HSFF is to disrupt the fast fashion industry and promote a more sustainable, ethical, and community-oriented approach to clothing production but that is actually cool and appeals to the youth.

Located on the same block as high-profile brands like Supreme and Bait, we aim to be the antithesis of mass consumerism, offering quality, rarity, and individuality. By providing education, mentorship, and hands-on experience, we strive to transform the lives of San Francisco's youth and invigorate the local economy.

Our work is fueled by a deep belief in the power of creativity and the potential for every individual to contribute to a more vibrant and equitable society.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Julian Prince Dash is the driving force behind Holy Stitch! With a background as an artist, teacher, and mentor with a deep-seated commitment to social entrepreneurship, Julian has paved the way for a new model of community engagement and creative expression. Balancing the roles of founder, parent, and visionary, Julian's leadership and dedication are at the heart of HSFF's success. Despite the challenges, he remains steadfast in his mission to empower others and make a lasting impact on the community.
